Mahale Mountains National Park, situated in Tanzania, is renowned for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife, including a significant population of chimpanzees. Entry Fees for Non-Residents
  • Peak Season (July to December): Non-resident adults are required to pay USD 200 per day, while children and students are charged USD 50 per day.
  • Low Season (January to June): During this period, non-resident adults pay USD 100 per day, with children and students maintaining the same fee of USD 50 per day.
Entry Fees for Residents and Tanzanian Citizens
  • Peak Season: Resident adults are charged TZS 3000, and children/students TZS 1000.
  • Low Season: Resident adults pay TZS 1000, while children/students fees remain at TZS 1000.
Camping Fees

For visitors seeking an overnight stay, camping fees vary depending on residency status and the type of campsite chosen (public or private). Notably, private campsites require a booking fee of TZS 10,000.

Vehicle and Other Fees
  • Vehicle Entry: Charges for vehicles vary based on capacity, ranging from TZS 400 for vehicles with less than 6 seats to TZS 5,000 for those with 45 seats and above.
  • Ranger Fees: Game drives exceeding 6 hours incur a fee of TZS 3,000, while shorter drives and overnight camp security have separate charges.
Payment Modes

Visitors can pay entrance fees in cash (US Dollars or Tanzanian Shillings) at the entry gates. However, cashless payments (Visa/Mastercard or Mpesa Mobile Money) are mandatory for the western section of the park, including the Mara Triangle – Mara Conservancy area. Cashless options are also available at other entry points such as Sekenani and Talek gates.
